Your top choice for compassionateIn-Home Care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL

It's often said that the golden years of your life are the most enjoyable. For most older adults in the U.S., it's a time to unwind, reflect, and live in the comfort of familiar surroundings. And that's how it should be - most senior citizens in America worked hard to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise their families. Shouldn't they be able to age with grace and dignity at home?

The answer is undoubtedly "yes," but as seniors age, they sometimes need assistance to live independently. Unfortunately, many older adults are unable to rely on adult children for help due to busy schedules, a lack of expertise, or both. That's where Mind & Mobility's home care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL begins to make a lot of sense.

Our in-home care services cater to those who want to stay in their homes as they age but require ongoing care that their loved ones cannot provide. Nowadays, most seniors prefer to live away from long-term care facilities and closer to their home where they feel most at ease.

If you or your senior loved one wants to thrive in their own house and avoid care facilities, in-home care is an effective, safe way to give family and friends the care they need when they need it the most.

The Mind & Mobility Difference

Mind & Mobility is a home care agency that takes pride in helping seniors enjoy life at home with grace and comfort. One of the biggest reasons why so many seniors and their families choose us is that our senior caregivers in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL, do more than just change bedsheets and prepare meals. They make it a point to provide compassionate care and connect with patients on a personal level.

Instead of eliminating independence from our senior population in Florida, we believe in maximizing it - a goal that's not always supported by assisted living facilities and nursing homes. In fact, those locations are often overpriced, understaffed, and known for the spread of disease. Senior care from Mind & Mobility provides a more emotionally and financially relieving option, whether you need a little help around the house or more involved services like companion care or dementia care.

While we take pride in providing compassionate caregiving services for seniors at home, we also offer clients free access to our Mind & Mobility Homecare Center in South Florida. Here, your senior can receive treatment from therapists who are experts in physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Our therapists work collaboratively in a supportive environment, taking into consideration the client's needs and concerns. They combine their expertise with the latest research in their fields to deliver cutting-edge, evidence-based services. With unlimited access to one-on-one sessions, our therapists' top priority is to help seniors live and age gracefully at home without having to relocate to an assisted living facility.

What is Senior Care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL?

Many older adults in the United States prefer to age at home, as it offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity. According to an AARP report, three out of four adults aged 50 and above wish to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

However, as adults approach their 60s and 70s, some may require assistance around the house, especially when family members are too busy or live far away. The truth is that the natural process of aging can make it challenging to continue living at home. Simple tasks like running errands become more difficult due to mobility issues. Preparing healthy meals and keeping track of medications and appointments can also become a challenge. Safety becomes a concern, and family members may worry about the well-being of their loved ones.

In these situations, in-home care is often a perfect fit. It allows seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

Mind & Mobility provides a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they receive the help they need to remain independent. If you have a senior loved one who needs some extra help to stay happy and healthy, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even from afar.

Companion Care You Can Count On

Aging in place refers to the practice of aging adults living in their homes as they grow old. Studies show that around 77% of retirees prefer to stay in their homes for as long as possible, and home care can be an excellent way to bridge the gap between receiving elder care and staying at home.

Allowing your aging loved ones to maintain their independence is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. This can contribute to their overall health and well-being, as opposed to a living facility where they may feel powerless and depressed. Unfortunately, these facilities often take away a senior's ability to do simple things like cooking for themselves, scheduling visits with family and friends, and even bathing in the comfort of their own homes.

Home care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL, including companion care services, is designed to provide both medical and non-medical solutions that your senior needs in order to maintain their independence. That way, your senior doesn't have to destabilize their life or adjust to a new way of living away from home.

Take a Break with RespiteCare Services from Mind & Mobility

Taking care of a senior loved one can be a tiring and overwhelming task, particularly if the caregiver is employed full-time and has other responsibilities to handle. Taking care of an older adult in such a situation can result in caregiver burnout, which can lead to a decline in the quality of care provided and even illness. To combat this issue, many adult caregivers choose respite care as a solution instead of full-time home care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL.

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults in the United States provide care to someone aged 50 or older. Unfortunately, many of these caregivers experience stress, fatigue, and even depression.

Respite care services offer a short-term break to family members and unpaid caregivers from their caregiving duties. This is a crucial service that benefits both seniors and their caregivers and can be arranged for a few hours or even several days, depending on their requirements.

What are the Benefits of Respite Care from Mind & Mobility?

Respite care services can have a significantly positive impact on the health of your elderly loved one, as well as your own. Whether it's for an extended period of time or just a few hours a week, respite care can help ease the burden of caregiving.

Taking some time off for yourself may seem selfish at first, but it's crucial to recharge your batteries to be able to continue providing care. Taking a short (or longer-term) break can also improve the overall quality of your care. Plus, professional respite care services offer your senior an opportunity to learn from and engage with a compassionate caregiver from Mind & Mobility.

Three Hurdles That Family Caregivers Face

Caring for your aging parents can be a fulfilling act of love. As you reminisce about the care they gave you while growing up, you now have the opportunity to return the favor. However, providing care for loved ones can be challenging. It's important to anticipate the obstacles you may face and learn how to manage them to protect your own health and well-being.

Here are three of the toughest challenges that family caregivers have to face when caring for their senior parents or loved ones.

Enough Support

Not Enough Support

It's common to feel like you're carrying the majority of the burden when it comes to taking care of your aging parents. However, assuming that you are solely responsible for their care can be overwhelming and cause strain in other relationships. It's important to remember that caring for someone else is not a one-person job. Attempting to do so can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the level of care your parents receive.

Enough Sleep

Not Enough Sleep

Interrupted sleep can be a problem for older adults whose circadian clock has shifted, leading them to wake up more frequently throughout the night. It can also be a result of stress and worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to stay alert due to sundowning and wandering. Those tasks can be difficult and require a sharp mind that has had plenty of rest. In fact, getting enough sleep is crucial for your ability to provide the best care for your parents, as well as for your own physical and emotional well-being.

Enough Privacy

Not Enough Privacy

Sharing living space with your parents can compromise both your physical and emotional privacy. This is especially true if one or both of your parents have dementia, which can cause them to feel afraid or disoriented when you're not around. At the same time, your parents may also find it difficult to maintain their privacy while under your care.

That begs the question - how can you conquer the challenges that most family caregivers face on a daily basis?

In-Home Care in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL Helps Alleviate Your Burden

Mind & Mobility's in-home caregivers can be there to help you ensure the best care for your parents and a healthier life balance for yourself. Taking a break from caregiving is not just a great idea; it's essential.

Our respite care services offer you regular breaks from caregiving, which allows you to take care of yourself while enriching your parents' lives. We provide opportunities for socialization and engaging activities, along with the necessary support to ensure safety and comfort. You can rest easy knowing that your parents are in the best of hands while you take a break.

MIAMI (WSVN) - Soccer legend Lionel Messi has been spotted across South Florida days before his anticipated debut with Inter Miami CF.

Ever since Messi and his family hopped off a private plane in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week, he has been spotted around town, as his first match with Inter Miami is set for July 21.

Cellphone video captured Messi and his family as they shopped for groceries at a Publix in Sea Ranch Lakes, a village near Fort Lauderdale.

The soccer superstar also took the time to pose for pictures with fans at the supermarket.

All over South Florida, murals of Messi have been painted. David Beckham’s wife, Victoria Beckham, posted on her Instagram account a picture of a mural of the soccer star in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood.

“Messi being in Miami is a dream come true,” said a fan as he stood in front of a mural.

Messi is on the minds of local fans and businesses who can’t get enough of Messi mania.

In another sighting, the 36-year-old visited Cafe Prima Pasta in Miami Beach on Wednesday night.

“It’s amazing that he’s come to the place he’s got to be. He is meant to be with us in Miami, full of Argentinians, full of Latin Americans, so we can’t be more excited,” said a restaurant customer.

Messi even has a chicken sandwich named after him at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood.

And the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale is getting ready to sell out seats, even installing more in order to meet demands.

Ticket sales for Inter Miami home games have skyrocketed ever since Messi announced he would join the team. Tickets for his first game with Inter Miami are going for as high as $1,000

Sports journalists have been weighing in on the impact Messi’s presence will have in South Florida.

“LeBron coming here changed the market, you know, and gave four years where – it’s unmatched as far as the circus,” said Dave Hyde, a columnist for SunSentinel. “Now, on an international scale, Messi beats that. You name a city internationally, and this is much bigger for them.”

To welcome Messi, Inter Miami is planning an unveiling event Sunday at the stadium. It’s free to season ticketholders.

While the team is keeping tight-lipped on who will attend the event, social media rumors have swirled that Shakira, Bad Bunny and Maluma are among the stars who might show up.

Messi is set to usher in a new era for the team.

“He will make every player in Miami better, instantly,” said Ray Hudson, a commentator for SiriusXM. “They will have to sharpen up their game though, and I’m sure they will, because they’ll know that they’ll have a big responsibility on their own shoulders to live up to Lionel’s standards.”

Messi is scheduled to make his official debut with Inter Miami a week from Sunday at DRV PNK Stadium in a game against Cruz Azul, Mexico’s Club team.

Prudence, balance and trust defines Edward Jones in Sea Ranch Lakes

Sea Ranch Lakes – Trust, especially when it comes to money, is the result of good decisions. Mike Franklin, a financial advisor at the Edward Jones office in Sea Ranch Lakes, understands the importance of such a connection with his clients.

When dealing with people’s money, it has to be a trust business. It has to be one-on-one. For years, Edward Jones has always believed in face-to-face contact, said Franklin. Important is “having offices right there in your communities where you can actually sit down with a financial adviser.”

The key for Franklin is making sure to have a customized game plan that reaches desired and achievable financial goals. “It is about where they are at today and where they need to be tomorrow,” he said.

One of the great things about his location in the Publix Plaza is its accessibility and ease of use for clients.

“I mean, the clients love to be able just to walk in, say, ‘Hey, I saw this on the news this morning.’ Or, ‘Hey, what do you think about what’s going on here?’” he said.

In the last couple of months, the conversation was all about the election. “How is politics going to affect my portfolio? What’s best for me individually?”

He explains that many people wanted to put their money on the sidelines in November because they didn’t know what was going to happen. But November turned out to be “the best month we’ve had in returns for a one-month average in – I don’t know how many – maybe 20, 30 years. Not only that . . . but since the election to Inauguration Day, the market’s been up 14 percent.”

However, it always comes down to the needs and comfort level of each individual.

Annuities, for example, are a small part of his business which creates a place for guaranteed income and to secure the gap between Social Security and pension proceeds.

Franklin said he has 90-year-olds who have very healthy stock portfolios who are investing for their legacy.

“They’re not investing for themselves. They’re investing for their children, their grandchildren, and their great-grandchildren to inherit one day. So it’s really individualized per person in what is the best investment vehicle for them.”

Sometimes it’s bonds, sometimes it’s CDs, or “sometimes it’s just leaving your money in a money market account and getting a little bit better of an interest rate than you can at the bank.”

Growing up in St. Louis Missouri and gaining his footing at Merrill Lynch, Franklin has now been with Edward Jones for nearly 30 years, and specifically at this South Florida office for six years.

He took over the business from Midge Birmingham who helped grow the business over a 30-year period with her late husband, Jim. Franklin handles many clients including locals who have trusted in this office for decades.

While ultimately about money, investing is also a people business. And with Edward Jones’ deep network of research, its advisors are always kept aware and educated of the possibilities of the market.

The key equalizer, explains Franklin, is “to take care of your cash needs first. You don’t want to invest in anything without making sure you have a good base for a recovery.”

He said no matter what age the investor is, “we always start with, ‘How are you doing with cash?’ We always want to make sure you have six months to a year of protection in your cash needs.”

That way, he says, if there is a downturn in the market [like in March of 2020], there is a safety net.

“We typically don’t get involved in what’s hot right now. We believe in quality investments that are well-diversified, and have a good track record over time,” said Franklin. “And that’s what equals wealth.”

Edward Jones is located at 4711 N. Ocean Drive in Sea Ranch Lakes. Call 954-782-2708 for more information.

Even in deep blue Broward County, where Joe Biden received 65.5% of the vote, there were pockets of support for President Donald Trump.

Trump defeated Biden in five Broward cities, largely the wealthiest enclaves in the most Democratic county in Florida.

Biden won 25 of the county’s cities, towns and villages, sometimes by astounding margins. Trump’s highest percentage wasn’t close to several of Biden’s best communities.

In Lighthouse Point, where Trump performed better than any other city in Broward, he received 65.8% of the vote. That was 0.3 percentage points better than Trump got in 2016.

There were 11 cities in Broward in which Biden received more than 65.8% and eight which gave him more than 75% of the vote, topping out in Lauderdale Lakes, with 91.6%. (In 2016, Hillary Clinton received 91.7% of the vote in Lauderdale Lakes.)

Biden won all six Broward cities with more than 100,000 residents: Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines and Pompano Beach.

The five Trump cities were Hillsboro Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lighthouse Point, Sea Ranch Lakes and Southwest Ranches.

Notable shifts

The Biden-Trump numbers for most of Broward’s cities was strikingly similar to the 2016 Clinton-Trump results. Trump and Biden/Clinton were generally within 1 to 3 points.

There were a handful of notable shifts:

In Hallandale Beach, Trump was 9 percentage points higher than 2016 and Biden was 7.7 percentage points lower than Clinton.

In Weston, Trump was 8.7 points higher than 2016 and Biden was 5.4 points lower than Clinton.

In Miramar, Trump was 6.5 points higher than in 2016, and Biden was 4.8 points lower than Clinton.

In Sunrise, Trump was 5 points higher than in 2016, and Biden was 7 points lower than Clinton.

2020 Biden, Trump by city

Countywide, Biden received 64.5% of the 958,101 votes cast for president and Trump won 34.6%. Trump won Florida with 51.2% of the vote to Biden’s 47.9%.

Broward’s tiniest municipality, Lazy Lake, is missing from the list. It had population of 24 residents in the 2010 Census and it votes in a Wilton Manors precinct, and its results are included there.

The Broward Supervisor of Elections Office has posted unofficial results from each of its 577 precincts on its website, which makes it possible to compile results for all the cities except Lazy Lake.

Palm Beach County’s Elections Office said it would have “the precinct-level data available on our website along with the official results which will be available around November 17th.”
